CamCloak privacy policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
CamCloak is a Chrome extension that hides facecam overlays in YouTube videos. It is made by Alpha Code d.o.o. (“we”). This policy explains what data CamCloak handles and why.
Everything that stays on your device
- Video frames. To find a facecam, CamCloak looks at a few frames of the video you are watching. It analyses them inside your browser. Frames, faces and anything else from the video are never sent anywhere.
- Masks, rules and settings, including the YouTube video and channel ids your masks are saved for. These are kept in your browser’s extension storage and never sent to us.
CamCloak has no analytics, no tracking and no ads, and it does not read your browsing history.
What is sent to our server
CamCloak Pro is a subscription. To know whether you have it, the extension creates a random install id that is not linked to your name, email or Google account. The extension sends this id to our server (a Cloudflare Worker at camcloak-api.camcloak.workers.dev) when it checks your Pro status, when you start a purchase, and when you manage your subscription.
For each install id with a subscription, the server stores the Stripe customer id, the Stripe subscription id and the subscription’s status. That is all it keeps.
The install id is saved in Chrome’s sync storage, so if you use Chrome sync, Google stores it with your synced data and Pro carries over to your other computers.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes each request, including your IP address, to deliver it. We keep request logs for up to 7 days to fix problems.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details, email address and billing country. We can see your name, email, country, card brand, the last four digits of your card and your payment history in our Stripe account. We never see or store full card numbers. We use this to run your subscription, send receipts, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting rules.
How long we keep it
We keep subscription records while your subscription is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your install id record at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with anyone except the service providers named above (Stripe and Cloudflare), who process it on our behalf. CamCloak’s use of data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To make a request, email mateo@alpha-code.hr.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
